Social Work Day 2010 (HK) Activities


In order to promote social workers’ participation, enhance the public’s understanding and recognition of the Social Work Professional, also to raise communities concerns on Social Work Day, the Organizing Committee organized a series of activities for celebration.

SocialWork Day 2010 (hk) Crossword Puzzle Competition

Crossword puzzle Competition was organized for raising public and service users' concerns and understanding of the Social Work Day. Besides, it is expected to popularize Social Work Professional and promote the Social Work Day.

Crossword puzzle competition obtained communities' concerns and hundreds of filled forms collected. After making by the Crossword creator, five winners who had got perfect answers were selected and thirty participants were selected with excellent performances. Cash Coupons were sent to the five winners and thirty participants as a recognitions and encouragements.

SocialWork Day 2010 (hk) Theme Song Creation

The Organizing Committee believed that a Theme Song which is able to represent Social Work Day must assist the community to understand the Social Work Day. Therefore, an open recruitment of “Social Work Day Theme Song” was carried out. It was hoping that the “Theme Song” can show the spirit of social workers of their practice for helping clients to help themselves and the enthusiastic to serve the community.

Million thanks to the support from the fellow social workers, four pieces of songs submitted to the Organizing Committee. After their adjudication, the encouraging song, 《愛與社工》(Love and Social Workers), created by Mr. Stanley CHEUNG was selected as the “Social Work Day Theme Song” unanimously. And during 2010 Social Work Day (HK) Summit, Stanley had a live performance on the Song which is so touching and encouraging.
