Social Work Day 2010 (HK) Long Run Competition


In order to motivate the idea of strengthening the physical condition by doing exercises, the Organizing Committee organized the Long Run Competition in January 2010. Thus, the understanding and recognition of society towards social workers would be enhanced and the professionalism of social worker would be promoted.

The Social Work Day 2010 (HK) Long Run Competition was held on 31 January 2010 at Ma On Shan. More than 200 runners participated in the competition, including social workers, their families, service users, social work teachers and students. The competition was divided into 3000M, 5000M and 10,000M, and grouping according to the participants’ age and gender. Participants were appreciated with their active participation. And it was grateful that the Guest of Honors attended the event on 31 January for encouraging the runners, they are, Mr. FUNG Pak Yan, the Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, Mr. CHEUNG Kwok Che, Legislative Councillor (Social Welfare Functional Constituency), and Mr. Frederick LAI, the convenor of Social Work Day 2010 (HK) Organizing Committee.
